SPF your life

Let’s say you make it to your 50th wedding anniversary and you bust out the old wedding album and there you are, stunning in your dress, aglow with hopes and dreams and Trish shimmer powder, giggly from mimosas and garters, and with HUGE WHITE STRAP MARKS from lying in the sun all summer with no regard to how those tan lines will photograph.  Congrats, you just blew a crapload of money on photos that look terrible.

bride-bad-tanI guess she has never heard of a bandeau bikini top or, I don’t know, untying the straps and lying real still.  Tan lines like these come from a healed over burn which is pretty much terrible for your skin.  If you MUST get some sun, PLEASE wear a minimum of SPF 50 on your face, neck and chest!   Getting a little gradual sun won’t hurt your overall look on your big day, but getting tanning-bed-orange or crispy red is awful for your skin, will photograph horribly and you will not look like yourself on the most important day of your life thus far, so get back in the shade.

So remember, strapless/bandeau bikini tops, a hat and SPF 50.  I’m not even going to pretend you are wearing anything less than SPF 50 on your face already.  A great sunscreen that actually feels good on is Coppertone Lotion spray.  It doesn’t get all filmy and bead up like the clear sprays.

coppertone-spfFor your face, Neutrogena is a great option.  If you want a little color and are smart enough to avoid the actual sun, Clarins makes the best sunless tanner there is.  Available at Saks and Neiman’s.

Thank you for this article. I would also like to talk about the fact that it can be hard if you are in school and just starting out to initiate a long credit rating. There are many students who are just trying to pull through and have a protracted or favourable credit history are often a difficult thing to have.
